Who we are

Studio Sciré is a division of Golden Gate Productions, Inc. (“Studio Sciré,” “we,” “us”). We design, program and look after home systems in Los Angeles, Ojai and Santa Barbara. This policy covers our website at studioscire.co, the Sciré app for iPhone, the house console and the guest and household pages we make for a home, and our care plans.

What we collect, and where it lives

On this website

The website has no forms, sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising code. Like every website, the service that hosts it receives standard technical information when a page loads (your IP address, browser type and the pages requested), which it uses to deliver and protect the site. The site’s typefaces load from a web font service, which receives the same kind of technical information.

When you contact us

If you write or call, we keep what you send us: your name, email address, phone number, the address of your home, and anything you tell us about it. We use this to answer you, arrange a visit and carry out our work.

Your home system

The system we design for you runs on a computer in your home. It holds information such as device and sensor readings, schedules, camera views, the names and preferences of people in the household, and the details of guest stays. This information is stored on that computer, in your home, not on our servers, except where described below.

The Sciré app

• Signing in. The app signs in to your own home system. The sign-in credential is kept in your iPhone’s secure keychain.
• Registering your phone. So your house can send you alerts, the app shares your phone’s name, model, operating system version and a notification token with your home system.
• Notifications. When your house sends an alert, the message passes through a small relay we operate and then through Apple’s push notification service to your phone. Our relay does not store the content of your messages. It records only whether delivery succeeded and which house sent it.
• What the app does not collect. It does not collect your location, contacts, photos, health data or advertising identifiers, and it contains no tracking or analytics code. If a future version adds a feature that needs more, such as arriving-home automations, we will ask your permission on the phone first and update this policy.

Guest and household pages

When a host adds a guest stay, the guest’s name, mobile number, room, dates and any notes the host writes are stored on the home system. Each guest receives a private link. Opening it may set a small cookie that keeps the guest signed in to that stay; it is not used for anything else. Some pages, such as a home gym pass, keep a simple visit log for the household, if the household turns that on.

Care plans

On a Monitored or Concierge plan, we keep a secure remote connection to your system so we can see whether devices are online, apply tested updates and fix problems. This lets us see device status and system logs. We do not look at camera views or other personal content as part of routine care; we do so only when you ask us to, or when it is needed to fix a problem you have reported.

Documents and photos you choose to store

If you use features that keep photos or documents, such as a home inventory for insurance, those files are stored in a cloud storage account that is either yours or held by us on your behalf, as agreed with you. We access them only to provide that feature or when you ask.

How we use information

• To design, program, run, maintain and support your home system and the Sciré app.
• To deliver the alerts and reports you have set up.
• To communicate with you, schedule visits, and send invoices.
• To keep our services secure and to meet legal obligations.

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell it or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Who we share it with

• Service providers who help us run our services, such as website hosting, notification delivery (including Apple’s push notification service), email and secure remote access. They may use the information only to provide their service to us.
• People you authorize, such as household members, guests and staff you give access to, or an electrician you ask us to coordinate with.
• When required by law, or to protect the safety, rights or property of our clients, the public or ourselves.
• In a business transfer, such as a merger or sale, in which case this policy continues to apply to your information.

How long we keep it

Information in your home system stays with your home system, and you control it. We keep contact and project records for as long as we work together and afterwards as long as needed for our records, taxes and legal obligations. When our work together ends, we remove our remote access and hand everything over to you.

Your choices and rights

• You can turn the app’s notifications off at any time in your iPhone’s Settings.
• Signing out of the app or deleting it removes its sign-in credential from your phone. You or we can also remove the phone from your home system.
• You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, delete it or give you a copy. Write to hello@studioscire.co. We will respond within 45 days, and we will not treat you differently for asking.

Residents of California and other places with privacy laws have these rights by law. We honor them for everyone.

Security

We use encrypted connections, private links, limited access and the iPhone’s secure keychain to protect information. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affecting your personal information occurs, we will notify you as the law requires.

Children

Our services are for homeowners and the people they choose. They are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.

Do Not Track

We do not track visitors across websites, so browser Do Not Track signals do not change how this website behaves.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we will tell our clients directly before it takes effect.
